HLTA with SEN responsibilities (REF: STM035A)

30 hours a week-actual salary £14,334 (Pay and grading review pending)

Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint an HLTA with SEN responsibilities to support our SENDCo in delivering interventions and support for pupils across our school. The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of the dyslexia screening process and be flexible to work across all year groups supporting and nurturing our dyslexic pupils. In additional to this, the role would also entail supporting our SENDCo with general admin duties and some whole class teachers for meetings/training etc

  • At least 3 years’ experience of working with primary school pupils, particularly those with additional needs
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
  • At least Maths & English GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade C or above
  • Specific training to support pupils with additional needs
  • Dyslexia Champion training (desirable)
  • HLTA qualification (desirable)
  • The ability to work supportively with parents to meet the needs of pupils
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Competency in ICT Skills
  • A competent working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019
  • A positive attitude and willingness to make a significant contribution to the school
  • A creative and flexible approach
  • An ability to be adaptable and manage your own time effectively
