ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER

Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint two additional Assistant Head Teacher’s to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced senior leaders to join Mount Charles at an exciting time in the school’s development. Mount Charles is part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust ensuring excellent opportunities for further professional development and career progression. 

You will join a committed and hard-working team of excellent practitioners and support a great community of families within the heart of St. Austell.  

You will: 

  • Work in close partnership with the Head teacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth day to day management of the school; 
  • Work with the staff to develop an excellent learning environment; 
  • Lead and support teaching and learning; 
  • Promote and model effective relationships with pupils, parents and carers. 

Our team have been driving rapid school improvement and you would take a lead role in ensuring continued developments. Your main areas of responsibility would be flexible depending on your experience and how you could complement our teams existing strengths. 

This is an exciting time to join our large and dynamic Trust, which is responsible for educating learners across four secondary schools, one junior school and eight primary schools, with a Free School (primary) to open in 2021.

Cornwall has a hugely diverse landscape with nearly a third of the county designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Cornwall is almost completely surrounded by sea with dramatic coastline, captivating fishing harbours, spectacular sandy beaches and a rich cultural heritage.
