ANIMAL CARE TECHNICIAN

Weekends and Holidays, Casual (2 hours per day)

Rate of Pay: £8.72 per hour

We are looking to appoint a committed individual to take a pro-active role in the daily care and welfare of a range of animals within our small school-based farm. This is guaranteed hours of 2 hours per day from Saturday 19^th December to Sunday 3^rd January inclusive.  The post will be reviewed in January, pending the need for a permanent contract. 

Applicants should have a genuine interest in the care of animals, with a hard-working approach and the ability to organise and carry out daily routine tasks, in line with school procedures.  The successful applicant needs to be reliable, trustworthy and conscientious.  

Tasks will include duties such as feeding, cleaning out animal pens and cages and the potential to care for sick animals, as required.  This role will also involve working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions so a flexible approach is necessary both with regards to duties and the working hours.  As this role will involve lone working and locking/unlocking of the site, this position is only open to applicants over the age of 18.
