Full Time, Permanent – Required for September 2021

At Poltair School, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced and highly motivated, yet supportive environment. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards for behaviour, engagement and academic outcomes. Poltair is a school steeped in history on an exponential journey of success, supported as part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT), a family of Cornish Primary and Secondary Schools, with a strategic vision to ‘learn together to help every child achieve more’. This is an exciting time to join our large, dynamic Trust, which is responsible for educating learners across four secondary schools, one junior school and eight primary schools with a Free School (primary) to open in September 2021. There are extensive opportunities to work collaboratively with experienced professionals and leaders across the Trust with unparalleled CPD and career development prospects for all.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional who has the necessary leadership qualities to support the Head of Maths to drive the department forward, to ensure all students make excellent progress in Maths.

This position would be an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Middle or Senior Leader. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and inspiring classroom teacher, with a strong commitment and ability to further develop outstanding teaching and learning across the department at each Key Stage.

It is an exciting time to join the department where you will be able to make a significant contribution to leading the team in the next stage of their journey, with radical changes being made to the curriculum and delivery of maths under the newly appointed Head of Maths. Alongside the Head of Maths, you will also lead a pilot project across the Trust, working collaboratively with primary schools and other secondary heads of department to rapidly raise standards and outcomes.

For the right candidate, there is an additional opportunity for whole school responsibility as a Deputy Raising Standards Leader. This role will require skills in using data to identify areas for improvement and leading intervention that has demonstrable impact, in order to achieve outstanding outcomes for all students across the school.
