SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

30 hours a week to include 2.5 hours lunchtime duties

Actual starting salary £12,024 fixed term until July 2022

Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to support the learning of a child with an EHCP at Luxulyan School. Although this role is predominantly for a 1:1 teaching assistant, there will be opportunities to support learning across the primary age range.

Luxulyan is an inclusive and supportive school community that is committed to providing a wide range of high quality learning experiences for all children. We are a mixed age primary school with 4 classes and currently 92 pupils on roll. We are committed to appointing the right person – previous experience is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support children in achieving and progressing towards their individual plans and targets.
  • Support the teacher in delivering the curriculum.
  • Undertake 1:1 and small group work.
  • Demonstrate an adaptable approach to supporting learning.
  • Be confident to administer medication where appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching resources.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children and parents.
  • Lunchtime duties, supervising and supporting the children at lunch break
