We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to ensure that Newquay Tretherras discharges its duties concerning attendance and the welfare of children.  The appointed person will take a pro-active role in improving attendance levels for all students, with particular attention to vulnerable groups including Pupil Premium, SEND and Children in Care.  The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Pastoral Team, including Heads of Year, Well-being Mentors and Form Tutors.  This role will involve analysing data to guide interventions and evaluate their impact.  The abilities to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are essential.  It would be hugely beneficial to have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SIMS.  You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff and parents/carers.  If you are passionate and enthusiastic about working with fantastic young people, we would love to hear from you.

Newquay Tretherras is part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT), a family of Cornish Primary and Secondary Schools, with a strategic vision of ‘learning together to help every child achieve more’. This is an exciting time to join our large and dynamic Trust, which is responsible for educating learners across four secondary schools, one junior school and nine primary schools.  There are extensive opportunities to work collaboratively with experienced professionals across the Trust with unparalleled CPD and career development prospects for all.  Cornwall has a hugely diverse landscape with nearly a third of the county designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Cornwall is almost completely surrounded by sea with dramatic coastline, captivating fishing harbours, spectacular sandy beaches and a rich cultural heritage.
