Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint five skilled teaching assistants to work  from the 1st September 2022. Our lovely school at S Mewan can offer you a warm and caring working environment, fantastic children and a supportive wider community. All posts will have elements of working one-to-one with children with additional needs. You will have the support of a large, well-established team of teaching assistants and highly skilled teachers. We are a forward-thinking primary school who actively encourage development opportunities for our staff team.

Candidates should have:

  • GCSE at C or above in English and Maths
  • Level 2 NVQ in a relevant area (or equivalent qualification)
  • At least 1 years’ experience of working in a primary setting, preferably with some experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • a patient and understanding approach to working with children
  • a positive outlook
  • the ability to be flexible and calm under pressure

The ability to use Makaton and an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.

If you would like to join our incredible team and work with fantastic pupils and would like to know more or book a visit to the school, please contact the school secretary, Mrs. Mannell, on 01726 74887.
