TEACHING ASSISTANT (REF:MEV002)

Maternity cover -to start 20th April 2023term time + 2 days

18.75 hours to include lunchtime duties- actual salary £8,661

Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work at Mevagissey Primary School. This is an exciting time to join this small, friendly school that is committed to providing a wide range of high quality learning experiences. There are currently 136 pupils on roll in six classes. We are committed to appointing the right person – previous experience, including the teaching of phonics, is desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Support the teacher in delivering the curriculum
  • Support the children in achieving and progressing towards their individual plans and targets
  • Demonstrate an adaptable approach to supporting learning and behaviour
  • Cover classes as required
  • Provide lunch-time cover
  • Undertake group work
  • Assist in break-time supervision
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching resources
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children and parents
