
Teaching Assistants, St Mewan CP School, REF STM010

St Mewan C.P. School are looking to appoint caring, patient and skilled individuals to work as part of our team. These positions would entail working with small groups of children and individually with specific pupils to support their learning needs. An essential part of this role will be working closely with class teachers and our pastoral and SEND team to meet the needs of the pupils within our school. We are a large, two-form entry school with a supportive community, fantastic pupils and a committed staff who always go above and beyond for the children in our school.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or experience
- At least Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above
- The ability to work supportively with parents to meet the needs of pupils
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Competency in ICT skills
- A competent working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021
- A positive attitude and willingness to make a significant contribution to the school
- A creative and flexible approach to problem solving
- An ability to be adaptable and manage your own time effectively
- A sense of humour
- It is desirable, but not essential, that candidates have at least 2 years’ experience of working with primary school pupils, including those with additional needs
