Actual Salary Range: £24,251 – £28,813

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and solution focused Assistant SENDCo to join our exceptional SEND Team at Penrice Academy. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate play a vital role in implementing our SEND strategy and advocating for our young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. This position would be suitable for a Qualified Teacher or an Unqualified Teacher with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of the role.

As an integral member of the team, key duties will include identifying and supporting students who are experiencing barriers to learning and maintaining our SEND Record of Need through the careful analysis of data.  The Assistant SENDCo will contribute to the management and support of students with SEND by establishing and maintaining exceptional relationships with both support and teaching staff at the school. 

The successful candidate will support the line management of a team of SEND Support specialists under the direction of SENDCO. Other duties include supporting students with an EHCP and those identified as SEN Support through key transition points. As the Assistant SENDCo, you will be available to support students and parents on Information and Parents Evenings as calendared through the academic year. The Assistant SENDCo will also be part of the Safeguarding Team at Penrice.
