Cornwall Education Learning Trust (CELT) is seeking to appoint a caring, patient and skilled individual to work as part of our team. The position would entail working with pupils and teachers to support individuals, groups and classes of pupils their learning within the classroom, in small groups and 1:1 as directed by the class teacher and senior leadership team. This would involve supporting in the preparation of activities and materials for learning as well as working directly with children and providing feedback to colleagues, parents and outside agencies about children’s progress. An interest and passion for outdoor learning and promoting positive play would be beneficial for this role.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate:

  • relevant experience of working with primary school pupils, including those with additional needs
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or experience
  • At least Maths and English GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above
  • the ability to work supportively with parents to meet the needs of pupils
  • excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • a competent working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019
  • a creative positive and flexible approach to problem solving

  • an ability to deliver structured learning programs as directed
  • experience of working in UKS2 and/or Year 6
  • a passion for outdoor learning, water safety and the importance of play
