You will attend College one day per week to undertake the nationally recognised Level 3 AAT Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship (Level 2 Pathway).  You will learn finance administrator skills such as double entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles, and purchase, sales and general ledgers initially, before progressing onto more complex accountancy processes. 

These roles will be based in Newquay, but there may be a requirement to travel to undertake training and work at or for other academies and sites within the Trust. 

A flexible approach to working hours is required.

To be a school parent governor you don’t need to have a background or experience in education, what we need are people who are over 18; engaged; passionate; committed; confident in having courageous conversations; curious with an enquiring mind; able to challenge the status quo to improve things; collaborative to build strong relationships; critical to improve their own work and that of the board and creative in problem solving….phew! Sounds like a lot but you know who you are.

For those that don’t know, a Local Governing Board provides strategic leadership and accountability to the school. Governors are one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards.

The role of the governing board is absolutely key to the effectiveness of a school.

They are expected to question and challenge leadership and to hold them to account. This is a position with a term of four years and involves meetings approximately every half term. At this stage we are looking for parents of Newquay Primary Academy pupils as it’s really important to get a good level of diversity across the board.
