Make a difference as one of our academy governors
As one of our academy governors you will provide support and challenge to the headteacher and senior leadership team. You will:
- Exercise the Local Governing Body’s responsibilities and powers in partnership with the headteacher and staff.
- Help the academy to set high standards by planning for the future, setting targets for school improvement, and keeping the pressure up on school improvement.
- Be a critical friend to the academy, offering support and advice.
- Help the academy respond to the needs of parents and the community.
- Not intervene in the day-to-day management of the academy unless there are weaknesses in the school, when the Local Governing Body then has a duty to take action.

- Being appointed by the trust.
- Being co-opted (that is, appointed) by the other governors.
